Patriots for Europe Demand the Immediate Resignation of Ursula von der Leyen Over Pfizergate Scandal

Brussels 14/05/2025 - Patriots for Europe demand the immediate resignation of Ursula von der Leyen, following today’s damning verdict from the European General Court on the "Pfizergate" scandal.

The Court confirmed that the Commission, under von der Leyen’s leadership, wrongfully blocked access to crucial text messages exchanged with Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla ahead of a multi-billion euro vaccine deal. This is a major blow to transparency and to the integrity of the EU institutions.

A President Who Betrays Trust Cannot Lead

A leader who hides critical information and undermines public trust cannot remain in office. Ursula von der Leyen has repeatedly failed to uphold transparency — and her actions are dragging the name of Europe through the mud.

This scandal proves once again that Patriots for Europe were right to oppose her appointment and to demand the creation of a Committee of Inquiry on Transparency and Accountability.
