EPP–Left Coalition Says No to Transparency, Patriots Refuse to Back Down

Brussels, 03/09/2025 - Scandal after scandal rocks the EU, yet the grand coalition refuses to act. Despite having collected the necessary 180 signatures to establish an inquiry committee on transparency and accountability (TRAC), the EPP and left-wing groups voted down the Patriots’ proposal.

The committee would have been tasked with exposing the misuse of taxpayers’ money, undue influence on legislative processes, the lack of transparency and institutional abuses within the EU institutions.

This decision exposes the deep-rooted hypocrisy within the EU: “rule of law” and “transparency” are being weaponized against democratically elected governments, but when serious breaches and corruption concern the EU institutions, everything is swept under the carpet.

The Patriots reaffirm their commitment to continue their fight for transparency. We will keep demanding the truth and accountability.
