EPP and Left-Wing Majority Block Debate on EU NGO Funding Scandal and Green Deal Revision

Brussels 07/02/2025 - The EPP and the left-wing majority in the European Parliament have blocked a debate on the European Commission’s NGO funding scandal and the urgent revision of the Green Deal, rejecting a proposal by the Patriots for Europe Group.

While calling for transparency in member states, the left-wing coalition with the EPP refuses to investigate allegations that the Commission has channeled EU funds to environmental lobbies to push its own agenda. "This is a clear misuse of taxpayers' money. We will not stop until these irregularities are exposed," says First Vice-President Kinga Gál.

Their refusal to debate the Green Deal revision further proves their detachment from reality. The policy is crippling European industry, driving up energy prices, and threatening jobs. The Patriots for Europe Group calls for a full revision of the Green Deal and urgent reforms to preserve European jobs and protect businesses, farmers, and families.

"Europe needs real solutions that put the protection of European citizens at the centre, not blind ideology that jeopardises European competitiveness and threatens families' livelihoods," added Kinga Gál. "We will fight for policies that put citizens first and make Europe great again".
