Partij voor de Vrijheid
Founded in 2004 by Geert Wilders, the Party for Freedom (PVV) emerged as a patriotic alternative to the Dutch political establishment, championing national interests, Judeo-Christian values, and strict immigration control. The party's breakthrough came in 2006 when it entered the Dutch House of Representatives, solidifying its role in national politics. By 2010, the PVV had become the third-largest party, backing a center-right minority government. After withdrawing support in 2012 over austerity disputes, the PVV continued to grow, emerging as the main opposition party in 2017. In November 2023, the PVV achieved a historic victory, winning 37 seats and becoming the largest party in the Netherlands. In the 2024 European elections, the PVV secured six seats and joined Patriots for Europe, collaborating with other nationalist groups to promote national sovereignty and identity.
