
Latvia First
"Latvia First", founded in 2021, is a Latvian political party focused on prioritizing national interests and strengthening sovereignty. It positions itself as a defender of traditional values and national identity, emphasizing economic development through a business-friendly environment, reduced bureaucracy, and lower taxes. Socially, the party upholds conservative stances on issues like traditional family values, same-sex marriage, LGBTQ+ agenda, immigration, and the preservation of Latvian culture. Represented in the European Parliament by Vilis Krištopans, a former Prime Minister, the party has rapidly grown to become Latvia’s second-largest by membership in just three years.

Vilis Krištopans (born June 13, 1954) is a former Latvian basketball player, coach, businessman and politician. He founded a basketball school, a German-Latvian bank and a number of companies. He was the Prime Minister of Latvia, Minister of Transport, Minister of State Revenue and a member of the Latvian Saeima. Since 2024 — Member of the European Parliament, the Patriots for Europe political group. Co-founder of the party "Latvia First", previously — co-founder of "Latvian Way".
